About the Position:
The Human Resource Specialist is responsible for comprehensive support related to the routine administration of Human Resources which includes recruitment/selection activities, benefits administration, and all other related functions.

Responsibilities:
Coordinate the recruitment and selection process.
Review employment applications and resumes to match applicants with job requirements.
Perform searches for qualified job candidates, using sources such as computer databases, networking, job fairs, recruiting firms and employee referrals.
Screens applicants by performing telephone and in person interviews.
Inform job applicants of details such as duties and responsibilities, compensation, benefits, schedules, working conditions, or promotion opportunities.
Select qualified applicants and make hiring recommendations when appropriate.
Conduct reference and background checks on applicants.
Hire employees and process hiring-related paperwork.
Schedule or conduct new employee orientations.
Administer employee benefits.
Prepare or maintain employment records related to events, such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management system software.
Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations.
Coordinate processing of workers' compensation claims, and OSHA reporting.
Maintain current knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action guidelines and laws, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Perform research and assist the Director of HR in a variety of special projects such as wellness and training initiatives; serve as back-up HRIS system administrator.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications or Requirements:
High School Diploma/ GED required, with an associate degree or equivalent experience.
2-5 years successful work experience in Human Resources is required.
Excellent organizational, time-management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
